As the world enters the third year of the global pandemic, Love Now Media, an empathy-centered media company on a mission to humanize news storytelling, announces the launch of a new podcast, Conscious Connections. Hosted by Nicole Blackson, a social worker, diversity training facilitator, and Love Now Media’s program director, the podcast explores the conscious, deliberate ways in which couples are intentional about love, every day.

“Although our podcast is focusing on romantic love, we are having full conversations about spirituality, mental health, and connection as it pertains not only to ‘finding love’ but staying in relationships with one another,” says Blackson. “Each couple will guide us in and through their stories of trust, blended families, spirituality, vulnerability, managing finances, grief to name a few.”

A launch party for the Conscious Connections podcast will be held at Sol Garden (1000 Buttonwood Street) on March 24, 2022 at 6 pm. The event is open to the public and will feature live music, podcasts guests, an interactive storytelling experience, and light fare. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite. (Pay what you wish.)

The first episode will be available on March, 24th, 2022 across podcast streaming platforms and accessible on LoveNowMedia.com

According to a 2021 Pew study, about 21% of U.S. adults are experiencing high levels of psychological distress, including nearly three-in-ten (28%) among those who say the outbreak has changed their lives in “a major way.” Though there are signs of a return to a sense of normalcy and in-person gatherings, mental health wellness and coping supports continue to be a concern. In addition to the pandemic’s residual effects in Philadelphia–which include financial, political, and safety issues–there are also national and global matters that contribute to high levels of psychological distress.
